We admit it’s been FAAAAAR too long since we’ve posted updates. Our sincere apologies. We’ve combed through all the pictures (all 1,400 of them) and now we just need the time to put together a slideshow and upload them. However, in the meantime, enjoy two videos of Noah walking. One is with a push toy, the other is some of his very first steps all by himself. A word of warning, the videos are DVD quality, so the files are a lot larger and will take a little while to download.

Click the link to watch the video in your browser (assuming you have a video player plug-in installed).
Right click the link and hit “Save link as…” or “Save target as…” if you’d like to save it to your computer and watch it. Just keep track of where you save it. You should be able to open it with Windows Media Player.

Noah walking with NO support + special bonus at the end (85 MB)
Noah Walking with Push Toy (105 MB)

More pictures, including Noah’s birthday party, are coming soon.

Noah crawled today for the very first time! He’s been working on it a while, but hadn’t quite gotten it down until today. He’d rather just have mom and dad pick him up (as indicated by the occasional whines in the video). We’re actually a little surprised to see him crawl because he seems much more intent on trying to walk. He can walk around when we hold both hands and has some modest success with a baby walker toy as long as we control the speed. Noah’s 10 months a day old. Sorry it’s been so long since we’ve posted. We’ve got a bunch of great pictures about ready to go up, including news of our recent vacation to see family and friends. However, Noah walking was big news, and we wanted to tell the world. Stay tuned for more stuff in the next week or so.

If the video is choppy, pause it and give it a chance to load a longer chunk before hitting play again.

Noah continues to grow so fast. He can sit up all by himself now (except he still hasn’t figured out that extending his legs makes him fall backwards). He can also stand on his own two feet if you put him up and hold onto his hands.

Noah chews on EVERYTHING. If it’s within reach, it’s fair game. Noah has 2 teeth, and he’s working on his 3rd. Unfortunately, this makes it painful for any grown up fingers that happen to be nearby. Noah likes to delightfully babble a lot. He’s still curious about everything and will check it out by putting it in his mouth if he can (noticing a trend here?). When Mommy and Daddy eat, Noah gets to suck on a teether with an ice cube in it, which has become known as the “Noah popsicle.”

Noah’s also getting a lot more coordinated in his play, and likes bonking the piano or his drums. His jumper is also a favorite place to hang around (literally). Bedtime is getting better, with Noah falling asleep on his own within a few minutes most nights, though good naps are still a challenge yet to be tackled.

Enjoy the pictures in the slideshow below. If you’d like a copy of the pictures, you can download as ZIP file by clicking here (3.6MB). If you’d like any of the pictures in a larger format, let us know.

Noah continues to grow and grow and grow.  At his 6 month appointment, Noah weighed in at 20 pounds, as well as measuring an astounding 29 inches.  He is well above the 97th percentile curve on the height growth chart.  We always knew he’d be ahead of the curve.  What can we say, he’s advanced. Unfortunately, for mommy and daddy, that means buying a brand new carseat.

Noah also has grown in 2 front teeth on the bottom.  It’s been a process bringing them in, but they’re finally here.  Noah likes to chew on everything.  Unfortunately, for our fingers, now it hurts.

We haven’t posted many videos previously, so we thought we’d put up a few.  Enjoy.  If your internet connection is slower (like ours), you might have to pause the video to let it get far enough ahead.

P.S. If you see Noah, tell him so sleep longer at night for mommy’s sake.
P.P.S. Happy Mother’s Day to Alison on Sunday!

Noah is almost 6 months old already.  Well, much has happened.  He’s growing like a weed (now that we garden, we know that’s fast).  He’s stretched out so big that he’s getting hard to hold.  Alison is getting huge arm muscles.

Noah is smiling more and more everyday, and he LOVES to giggle.  He’s started watching every move we make when we eat, following the food from our plate to our big mouths.  We’ve started feeding him a little bit of solid foods each day.  So far the food of choice is prunes, which he loves (and it doesn’t plug him up).  About a week ago Noah rolled over for the first time, but he hasn’t let his dad see him do it yet.

Enjoy the pictures in the slideshow below.  If you’d like a copy of the pictures, you can download as ZIP file by clicking here (4.1MB, with a few extra pics not in the slideshow).  If you’d like any of the pictures in a larger format, let us know.

We have no delusions that you have really come here to see pictures and hear about Noah, but there are a few new developments in Mike’s and Alison’s lives, so we thought we’d mention them, too.

Right now Alison is getting trained to start a Kindermusik program in Albion.  Simply put, Kindermusik is a music and movement program. Each week in class they play, listen, and dance to music that helps parents and children bond while meeting other families.  They develop an appreciation for music, experience different sensations, learn self-control, and just plain have fun.  Alison’s working hard and looking forward to starting classes in the fall.

Mike survived the busy season of Lent, Holy Week, and Easter.  Now he’s looking ahead to wrapping up the school year.  He’s also busy preparing for Larry, the senior pastor at Zion (the larger church in Albion), to retire.  Although the congregation is still planning how to fill the void, Mike will continue serving each congregation half time in his current roles.
